Your engagement ring—and your wedding band, too—should fit snugly but comfortably. It should slide on easily, but you should have to pull a little to get it off. Resizing a ring usually takes one to two weeks. Rings can be increased or decreased by up to two sizes. If your ring is just slightly too big, or you notice the stone moves from one side of your finger to another, we can place a sizing assistant in the ring to keep it in place.

There are a variety of setting techniques used to secure and set loose diamonds and stones. The two main ring settings are prong and bezel settings. We can set a new stone, or upgrade or change the setting of an existing stone. Some of our customers switch from a prong setting to a bezel setting so that their diamond is less likely to get damaged. The bezel setting is characterized by a ring of metal that holds the ring’s stone in place. This encasing of metal slightly overlaps the edges of the stone, which helps keep it safe.

A ring worn daily will experience wear on the prongs around the stones. Depending on the metal, prongs will need to be re-tipped at different points in their lives to prevent the loss of the stone. Whether the prong has merely thinned out or broken off, we can add metal and reshape the prong using goldsmith techniques so that it does its job, holding the stone safely in place.

We offer rhodium platting. Rhodium-plated means jewelry made from a base metal of gold, silver, or another alloy that is coated in a thin layer of rhodium for extra strength and luster. Jewelry plated in rhodium is shinier and more durable than other metals. Rhodium plating does not scratch, dent, or corrode and retains its luster.

Our watch battery replacement costs just $10 and can be done while you wait. We use tweezers and a small screwdriver to remove the dead battery and replace it with the new one.
